A LITTLE UPDATE

Hi everyone, its a been little quite of late here, and thats because we have been working hard on loads of different little things, but we almost have the second Off Modern magazine coming out in the new year. If you’d like to check out the Ditto Press Blog you can find a little teaser, you should also check them out anyway, Ben Freeman is the mastermind behind the excellent FUN magazine, which we’ve mentioned before. If you have anything you need printing I’d recommend checking them out.

O/M/NEWS//APRIL

Hello Everyone

We hope you’ve all had a nice easter, we’ve been busy; drinking coffee, eating hot cross buns and alternately working hard and procrastinating. We’re almost ready to announce our summer projects, don’t worry, we’re getting there. We’ve been busy in meetings, fervently emailing, writing and re-writing press releases, we should have some stuff to tell you by the end of the month. The photos are up from the Off Modern #5, and we’ve finally got through the backlog from all the previous events, so we’ll be cracking on with getting new stuff up soon. If you haven’t already, check out the lovely Among The Bones mp3s and the read the pieces on Historic Discourse and on Dubai & Supermodernity. Thanks also to Holy Ghost Zine for allowing us to host one of only three interviews The Temporary School of Thought gave. Unfortunately we’re a bit behind on the magazine, but you can expect it to be out soon! Promise.

The second No Pain In Pop compilation is out now, we dj’ed at the launch party and it was a lot of fun, the tracklisting is pretty excellent; Pens, Sunni-Geini, Telepathe and Gentle Friendly, who played our first show way back in November.

Also we have the line-up confirmed for Off Modern #6 on the 30th of April. Gyratory System, Friendship and Radiant Dragon are all playing live. Bradley Zero, Quintessential and Ronojoy Dam (Real Gold) are all doing dj sets along with our residents Tomfoolery and Nasty McQuaid. It should be pretty amazing.

Here’s the video for the new single from Friendship, The Graveyard Shift.

And this is Gyratory System’s Barons Court Turret, which came out in February on ARC.

Hopefully we’ll see you all at Corsica on the 30th!

Hello Everyone,

We’ve put all the photos up on the website from OM#4 and we’re starting to get through the backlog of photos from previous nights. Hopefully we’ll be getting a few more bits done too; artists pages should be up soon(ish) and we will be getting all the old flyers up and the posters we’ve been submitted should be online at some point too. We now have a music section too, you can currently listen to and download an exclusive mp3 by K+U+R+T+Z who played at the OM#2 way back in December.

In magazine news we’re currently planning on releasing one full issue late March/early April as well as a literature anthology issue and a photography issue too. If you’d like to contribute and get involved send us an email.

We’ve recently got confirmation on an exciting new exhibition project for the summer. We don’t want to announce anything yet, but we’ll fill you all in on the details asap. We’re also working on another big event that’ll be happening towards the end of summer, again we’ll keep you updated with details as soon as we have the dates/bands/artists confirmed. Watch this space.

Pascale Avital, Eleanor Dunk, Tom Harrad, Johnny Pinchard, Suren Seneviratne + Meg Woof will all be exhibiting artwork. For Off Modern #6 we’re planning on showcasing some of our new, favourite bands, we’ve got Gyratory System and Radiant Dragon confirmed so far, we’ll let you know the rest of the details once they’re confirmed, but stick April 30th in your diaries.

We’ve got a few DJ dates for March/April lined up, you should especially check out the Lucky .PDF Warehouse Party on the 20th, unless of course you’re coming to see us host Push. The No Pain In Pop guys are putting out their second compilation on the 3rd of April at a secret warehouse in Whitechapel, Banjo or Freakout, Trailer Trash Tracey’s and A Grave With No Name are all playing live. Kids Love Lies are releasing a single and are having a launch party on the 8th of April at 93 Ft East, we’re djing so you should come say hello.
