Hello everyone.
I hope you enjoyed our last event at Corsica. It was a big night and its been a great seven months. Our monthly events at Corsica are going to take a break over the summer so we can concentrate on making everything better when we return to Corsica on October 1st. We will be following that up with monthly dates there on the first Thursday of every month. We are now open to submissions for artwork to be featured at Off Modern from October onwards. If you know the space please send submissions and proposals to art@offmodern.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you are not familiar with our exhibition space at Corsica you can request space specs and pictures by also emailing art@offmodern.com.
We can also reveal details of South East in East now, an arts and music festival we are programming on Brick Lane, beginning on August bank holiday and running between August 28th and September 3rd. The event will be taking place at Vibe Bar, where Off Modern and Sunday Painter will be co-curating an exhibition that will run throughout the week. We have also been working in conjunction with record labels Backyard, Too Pure, No Pain in Pop, Holy Roar and booking some great bands for what promises to be a great week. So far confirmed are Hot Club de Paris, L-Vis 1990, Bok Bok, Tronik Youth, Publicist, Turbowolf, Loverman, Skull Juice, Tomb Crew, Friendship and The Invisible to name just a few. We’ll be updating you with loads more details soon, but we’ll be having bbqs, an outdoor stage and loads of other fun things will be going on throughout the week.
Finally our next ’zine will be stocked in selected arts bookshops across London in July. You can check where they will be by going to www.offmodern.com. We will be constantly updating the website over the summer so check it for nuggets of knowledge and contributions from artists, writers and for bits and bobs on our favourite new bands.
